Bagot Community, Darwin: January 30th, 2010 – “A great night with bands in Bagot Community”
Writes Micah: “The local Young Guns with guests Yatula Yatula Band from Lajamanu arranged, set up and managed a deadly
event – and set – on Saturday the 30th of January.
With plenty of assistance from local community members (Lewis Pulson, Brendon Simons from Yatula Yatula Band, and Isaac Pulson from The Young Guns), the event was supported by the Bagot Community Church and Music NT. There was food and cool drinks for sale to help raise money for community musicians. and more . We all look forward to seeing more great music coming from Bagot Community, so keep an ear out and come join in at the next community event!

Nguiu Community, Bathurst Island : Saturday 13th March
On Saturday March 13 Micah traveled to the Nguiu Cmmunity on Bathurst Island, to check out the Tiwi Islands Grand Final Football Carnival. While he was there he supported Xavier Secondary School by helping out with break dance workshops (could that be him in the hat, right, busting a move on the dance floor?!) Micah also ran Music and CD Recording Workshops with young people from the community, who were engaged through the Nguiu Sports & Recreation Program which operates from the Nguiu Shire. Micah also supported the local youth workers at the Friday Night Disco.
Music NT also ran Recording Workshops in the front yard of old Uncle Frank’s house. Says Micah, “The young people just couldn’t get enough! There sure is a high level of excitement for music and dance in the Tiwi Islands.”
