A series of Anti-smoking videos created as part of the Galiwin’ku Healthy Lifestyle Festival 2009 , facilitated by Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation and Skinnyfish Music.

Created for and completely by the Elcho Island community in remote north-east Arnhemland, this unique anti-smoking campaign spread like wild fire across Arnhemland as mini video clips being passed around through peoples mobile phones.

The corporation’s Tobacco Control Project coordinator, Ric Browne, said the key was making a message in language and finding the best way to distribute it.

“Not many Yolngu homes have computers, but everybody’s got a mobile phone,” he said.
