Tablelands Drifters release new video

The Tableland Drifters play the Desert Harmony Festival 2009, Tennant Creek.

Barkly Tableland country rock veterans The Tableland Drifters have released a music video to accompany their new song, ‘Tribal Voice’.

The video was “filmed in Tennant Creek and edited by Josh Thomason from the Beyond Empathy” Indigenous arts project. ‘Tribal Voice’ is from The Tableland Drifters upcoming album ‘Land Down Under’.

Hailing from Tennant Creek, The Tableland Drifters are hard at work in the studio, putting the finishing touches to their latest album, to be mastered by Marine Boy’s Matt Cunliffe. Their track ‘Wasting Your Life’ was also included on the Samson & Delilah film soundtrack in 2008, available through ABC Music.

Inducted into the ‘Hall Of Fame’ at the 2009 Indigenous Music Awards in Darwin for 25 years of music service to the Barkly, The Tableland Drifters live performance prompted Rolling Stone journlaist Barry Divola to describe guitarist Angus Pearson as “the Mark Knopfler of the bush”.

‘Land Down Under’ will be launched at the 2010 Indigenous Music Awards on August 28, Darwin Amphitheatre, George Brown Botanical Gardens. More details here.
