Music NT’s Micah Wenitong was fortunate enough to see an amazing performance at the 2010 Barunga Sports & Culture Festival, (June 11-14), when he was visiting communities as part of his work as Indigenous Music Development Officer.

Rising East Arnhem Land stars Garrangali Band gave a hugely energetic performance on stage in front of a very grateful crowd. The band has also just launched a CD, “Garrangali (Crocodile Nest).

Micah arranged for Music NT to share some photos from the big event. You can view the full photo album on the Music NT Forum.

At the time, things were getting very busy for Garrangali Band, who were planning to shoot a music video in Darwin and to visit Sydney to play at the Manly Boatshed, with an interview from Rolling Stone in the wings.
