In 2010 triple j Unearthed partnered with Music NT, to offer two lucky NT acts the chance to play showcase gigs at the Alice Springs and Darwin iNTune Music Conferences!
Bands registered on triple j Unearthed nominating their region (either Darwin or Alice Springs), uploaded their tracks before the deadline of Sunday August 1st, 2010. NT bands already registered on Unearthed in the Darwin and Alice Springs regions, were also eligible for the competition.
Unearthed iNTune Music Showcase Gig Dates
Darwin: Friday 27th August, 2010, The Lighthouse, Darwin Festival.
Alice Springs: Friday 10th September, 2010, The Pod, Alice Desert Festival.
This was the second time that triple j Unearthed partnered with iNTune, and Music Nt hopes that the opportunity will again happen in 2011. In 2009 Darwin band The Aviators won the triple j Unearthed spot playing the iNTune Showcase gig in Darwin, supporting Jess Ribeiro & The Bone Collectors at the Darwin Festival. It was a great development in 2010, that triple j Unearthed supported both music showcases at this year’s Darwin and Alice Springs iNTune Music Conferences.
