INDIE WEEK has been running since 2004. Written up on the Indie Week Facebook page: “The festival has grown immensely in popularity over the past 6 years and has attracted the attention of many high-end corporations such as Jagermeister, Amsterdam Beer, Sonic Bids, Long & McQuade, and others who have become involved as sponsors to show their unwavering support for independent music culture. It is held annually in Toronto during the month of October, strategically placed around 3 other music festivals in Canada and the US (Pop Montreal, Pop Explosion, and CMJ), allowing traveling acts to maximize their touring routes by having the opportunity to be involved in multiple festivals.”

The band played three showcase gigs, including the Australian Showcase on October 15th, alongside 4 other Australian acts: Shane Walters, Bluespoon, Shotgun Blonde and Captains. To get to Canada, roymacknonkey played fundraiser gigs in venues like the revamped Darwin Railway Club.

Indie Week aims to expose unsigned artists to North American industry and includes over 100 acts from over ten countries, including Australia. “INDIE WEEK is more than just a festival – it’s a place where artists can gain exposure, make fans, network and schmooze with members of the industry, sit in on some cool panels and have a great time throughout.” (Source: Facebook).
