The annual Wide Open Space festival of music, arts and desert culture boasts a massive line up for its 2011 “gathering”.
Territory music artists include Damn Moroda, pictured (including Darwin’s James Mangohig from Sietta), Tjupi Band (Papunya), Dr. Strangeways (Alice Springs), Minority Sun (Alice Springs), DJ Mustapha (Alice Springs), DJ Rockilishus (Alice Springs), Catch The Fly (Alice Springs), Super Raelene Bros (Alice Springs), Iwantja Band (APY Lands), Bec Matthews (Alice Springs), Sami Cha-Cha & the Cardboard Cutouts (Alice Springs), Sideshow Aly (Darwin), Ronja Moss (Alice Springs), Max Savage (Alice Springs), Desert Divas (Alice Springs & region), Katelnd (Alice Springs), Dr. Fluoride (Tennant Creek) and more TBA…
Interstate performers include Joelistics (Elefant Tracks), Monkey Marc, Mista Savona, Tin Pan Orange, Mystic Beats, Ghettafunkt, Kingfisha, Kalya Scintila, Billy Dread, Yeshe and many more.
Now in its third year, Wide Open Space is proving to be one of the NT’s – and Australia’s – most exciting desert culture festivals, with the list of performers – and crowds – growing rapidly every year.
Set against the stunning backdrop of the East MacDonnel Ranges, year’s festival runs from April 29 – May 1 at the Ross River Resort & Camping Ground, Ross Highway, 85kms east of Alice Springs, Northern Territory.
