Caiti Baker from band Sietta has been in touch with some news…

The Darwin dance duo has been invited to showcase their music at the Music Matters Regional Music Conference in Singapore in May.

Pretty exciting stuff!” she says about the opportunity to showcase Sietta’s music in front of an international music industry audiance.

Music Matters was “created in 2006 to encourage positivity, innovation, collaboration and transparency within the music business”.

Music Matters is a “major music industry event held annually in in the Asia-Pacific region”. Hosted in Hong Kong in 2010, “over 800 people” attended the Conference.

Moving to Singapore in 2011, international music industry  personnel, distributors, media, producers and promoters from around the world will be in attendance and speaking, with a number emerging and established artists performing in the music showcases.

Caiti says that Sietta “has to pay their own way” to attend the event, so they are “crowdfunding the trip” through Australian crowdfunding website, Pozible.

She says “We have 18 days to raise the total amount of $3000 to get us there. With a donation, people are ‘rewarded’.” Rewards range from “personal postcards, signed CDs and t-shirts, to home-made macaroons and one-off illustrations – all Sietta made!”

Sietta played at the Fuse Music Festival showcase in Adelaide in February, and are due to release their debut album this year.

The Conference runs from May 26-28, 2011. For more information visit Sietta on Pozible. And read more about Sietta’s music at their official website.
