<h3>Emerging Act of the Year Nominee: Tjupi Band</h3>
<p>Tjupi (Honey Ant) come from the Papunya,250k NW of Alice Springs. Tjupi Band play energetic and emotive desert reggae. Singing in Luritja (as well as in English), they are the foremost musical inspiration for people across Central Australia.</p>
<p>From growing up learning from the members of Warumpi Band, They form part of the new wave of uniquely Indigenous Australian reggae; alongside other musical innovators such as Saltwater Band and Letterstick Band.</p>
<p>In September 2009 they were chosen as one of three acts to perform in Darwin at the Telstra NT Indigenous Music Awards; sharing the stage with Geoffrey Gurrumul Yunupingu and Jessica Mauboy.</p>

<p>This album &#8216;Garrangali&#8217; (Crocodile Nest) is a unique and innovative enterprise development opportunity from the youth and community of Yilpara, and is an exciting celebration of dedication, initiative and hard work.  Music crosses all borders and boundaries, seeking to infuse, unite and engage.</p>
<p>The lyrics and Manikays of this album embraces the deep connection and relationship between the ancestral land and sea and the visions of the old people, strengthened by strong community spirit and cultural integrity.  The album package features a DVD that includes music videos of two featured songs, <em>‘Mungurru’ </em>and <em>‘Muthi Muthi’</em>.</p>

Their debut DVD single &#8220;Galiwin&#8217;ku&#8221; has been broadcast on Rage &#038; on Austar through Aurora Community TV. </p>
<p>Wildflower have been chosen by ABC&#8217;s triple j for their list of &#8220;Next Crop&#8221; acts this year. They will be featured on Sunday November 12th as part of triple j&#8217;s Australian Music Month &#8211; with airplay throughout the day of &#8220;Galiwin&#8217;ku&#8221; along with a short recorded introduction from the band. </p>
<p>An extended interview with the band will be available on podcast and Wildflower&#8217;s profile will be up on the ABC&#8217;s Aus Music Month website. This year Wildflower will feature in a TV and multimedia documentary in  conjunction with AFC and ABC TV called &#8220;Fangin&#8217; The Combi&#8221;.</p>
